After listening to a presentation of the company, you get a guided tour of the whole plant which covers an area the size of Monaco. On your trip you pass through many different buildings and departments. You may also see one or more of our large forklift trucks, locomotives or torpedo cars.

One or more of our school guides will accompany you and your class. We tailor our tours to your needs and requests.

The Blast Furnace
This is where the pig iron production takes place. In this plant coke, limestone and iron ore pellets are mixed together and then heated up to around 1800 degrees Celsius. After quite a long process the liquid pig iron is tapped off into a torpedo car to be transferred to the steel plant.

 

The Rolling Mill
In the rolling mill the first thing you see is a 3000 sq.m. roller grinding plant. If we go into the roller control room you will hear a description of how the rolling process is done and you can even follow what is happening on the computer screens. From a raised walkway you can see one of the world's most powerful four high rolling machines which rolls slabs into steel plates of various sizes and thicknesses. As we go further on through the rolling mill you can see how the steel plate is cut up and flattened to precise specifications.

 

The Laboratory
In our laboratory you can see how we work with research and the development of products. Depending on the type of steel needed we can create different special properties of steel.
